- In a pressure cooker add toor dal with ½ cup water and cook for 3 whistles. Allow steam to escape. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds after it cracks add urad dal and chanadhal fry till golden brown.
- Next add cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chillies.
- Immediately add onions saute till golden brown and add tomato. Cook till mushy. Add snakegourd.
- Now add salt and turmeric powder. Sprinkle water cover with lid and cook for 10 minutes on low flame till it soft.
- Then open and add cooked dal along with the water and simmer till dry. Toss the coconut and mix well.
