The ingredients needed to prepare Lauki Bhaji:
- Prepare 500 gm lauki
- Get 1 onion
- Get 1 Tomato
- Take 1 " piece ginger
- You need 1 Green chilli
- Provide 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- Take To taste salt
- Use 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Get 1/4 tsp garam masala
- Get 1/4 tsp coriander seeds powder
- Use 1/2 tsp Kasuri methi
- Use 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- You need 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Prepare 1/2 bowl water
Instructions to make Lauki Bhaji:
- Wash peel and chop all vegetables. Chop bottlegourd in small pieces. Grate tomatoes.
- Heat cooking oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put finely chopped ginger and onions and saute till golden brown.
- Add salt, red chilli powder, coriander seeds powder, kasuri methi and turmeric powder and mix well. Grate tomatoes and add in onions and saute till oil leaves the sides.
- Add chopped bottlegourd and mix well. Add water and place the lid and cook till 3-4 whistles. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically
- When pressure releases open the lid and add garam masala and coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
