The ingredients needed to prepare FISH THOKKU / MEEN THOKKU:
  1. You need 500 gms Seer fish
  2. Use 2 Chopped Onion
  3. Provide 2 Chopped Tomatoes
  4. You need 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  5. You need 1 tbsp Red chilli powder
  6. You need 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  7. Take 1 tbsp Pepper powder
  8. Use to taste Salt
  9. Provide 4 tbsp Coconut oil
  10. Get leaves Coriander
  11. Provide Water as required
Instructions to make FISH THOKKU / MEEN THOKKU:
  1. Take the cleaned and washed fish pieces in a bowl. Marinate with salt, Red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 3tbsp coconut oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces. Once the fish pieces are brown, remove the pieces from the pan and set aside.
  3. To the same pan, add the remaining coconut oil, then the chopped onions, ginger garlic and chopped tomatoes.
  4. Saute for 5 minutes. Then add a glass of water. Cover and cook till the onion and tomatoes are cooked well.
  5. Once the onions and tomatoes are cooked well, add in the fried fish pieces.
  6. Mix well and continue cooking till it reaches the thokku consistency.
  7. Finally add some coriander leaves and pepper powder. (Pepper powder is optional)
  8. Fish Thokku is ready to serve.
