The ingredients needed to make Chana Chole:
- Use 2 cups Kabuli chana
- Provide 2-3 cups Onion
- Take 1 cup Tomato puree
- You need 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- Take 1 tbsp Green chillies paste
- You need 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- Provide 1 tbsp Cumin powder
- Use 1 Bay leaf
- Get 1/2 tbsp ajwain / carom seeds
- Provide 1/2 tbsp Black til
- Use 3-4 pcs Garlic
- Take 3-4 tbsp Oil
- Use 1 Green tea bag
Instructions to make Chana Chole:
- Firstly take a bowl and soak the chana for about 4-5 hours.
- After 4-5 hours it will look like this.
- Now take a pressure cooker and put the chana to it.
- Add 2 cups of water,salt, Ajwain,Black til, chopped onion,garlic pieces and green tea bag to it.
- Give it 3-4 whistles.
- Now the chana is boiled. You can take out the tea bag from it.
- Take a kadhai and add oil to it.
- Now add all the spices(cumin seeds,bay leaf, pepper corn balls).
- Let it crackle.
- Now add sliced onion to it.
- Fry it until the colour changes.
- Now add tomato puree to it. Cook it for some time and add cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt to it. Cook it for about 4-5 minutes.
- Cook it until the masala separates oil from it.
- After sometime add 1 cup of water and chole masala to it.
- Give it a boil.
- Turn off the gas and serve it hot.
