- Get 1 cup Chickpeas (soaked over night)
- Take 1 tea bag
- Use 1 tsp chole masala(readymade)
- Take 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- Prepare 2 Cloves
- Use 1 Bay leaf
- Prepare 1 inch Cinnamon
- Prepare 2 Onions (chopped)
- You need 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- Prepare 2 Tomatoes(chopped)-
- Use 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- Prepare 1 Black caradamom
- Get to taste Salt
- Take 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- Prepare as required Cooking oil
- Use 10-12 Black pepper
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Provide 1 tbsp ghee
- Provide Few slit green chillies
- Use 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder (aamchur)
Instructions to make Punjabi Chole:
- Boil chole along with a small potli having(tea bag, 1 cardamom,2 cloves,1 stick cinnamon) baking soda little salt and pinch turmeric powder and required water. Boil until the chole turns soft.
- Now take a pan add oil then add bay leaf and cumin seeds now chop onions and fry for 4-5 mins then add ginger garlic paste, cook for another 1 min now add chop tomatoes, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and salt saute well and cook for 6-8 mins.
- Now add a teaspoon chole masala and kashmiri red chilli powder for colour and cook in low flame for a minute now add boiled chole. Mash few chole to thicken the gravy.Add required water. Cover the pan and cook for 8-10 mins.
- At last add garam masala powder amchur powder mix and cook. Now add slit green chillies and add 1 tbsp ghee for more flavour cook for 2-3 mins. Serve and enjoy with chapati.
