The ingredients needed to make Bhindi Paturi:
- You need 250 gm bhindi(lady's finger)
- Take 3 tbsp mustard poppy seed paste
- Get 3 tbsp coconut scraped
- Provide 1 1/2 tbsp curd
- Provide 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Use 1 green chilli
- Get 3 tbsp mustard oil
- Use To taste salt
- Take 1/4 tsp sugar
Instructions to make Bhindi Paturi:
- Wash and pat dry bhindi.Chop off the head and tail and cut them into 1.5 inch pieces.Soak mustard and poppy seed in hot water for half hour.Strain water.Add curd,green chilli and water as needed to grind the masala into a smooth paste.Scrape coconut.To make the gravy,assemble the mustard,poppy seed paste with scraped coconut.Add little turmeric,red chilli powder,salt and sugar to taste.Add mustard oil.Mix this masala in bhindi.Add 1 tbsp oil on top.
- If steam cooking,pour this bhindi mustard mix in a tiffin box.Close lid.Add 1.5 cups water in a pressure cooker.Set the closed box in it.Close lid and steam cook upto 3 whistles.Allow the pressure to release.Open lid of tiffin box and serve hot with rice.Another way is to microwave the content in high power for 2 minutes.Toss and microwave 1 minute.Done.
