  1. Heat oil in a kadahi/heavy bottomed vessel.Add oil and heat till smoking point.Fry 1 sliced onion till golden brown,take out.
  2. Dissolve turmeric powder in 2 tbsp water,add to remaining oil,stir immediately.Add mutton to the oil and fry on medium heat for 5 minutes.Add whole garam masala also.
  3. Now add another sliced onion,red chillipowder,coriander powder and salt.mix well Cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
  4. Meanwhile grind fried onion,coconut powder,poppy seeds and curd.Make a smooth paste.
  5. Add this paste to mutton,mix well.Add 2 cups water,cover and cook on low -medium flame for 40 -45 minutes or till mutton is tender.
  6. Now add garam masala powder and lotus seeds.Mix and further cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
  7. Mutton curry is ready. Put off flame and leave for 5 minutes. Add kewra water.Mix. Mutton kadahi with lotus seeds is ready to serve.
