The ingredients needed to prepare Moong Dal Vadi Gravy:
  1. Take For Gravy–
  2. Take 10-12 cloves garlic
  3. Get 5-6 green chilli
  4. Get 2 tbsp Cumin seeds
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp black pepper
  6. You need 2 cardamom
  7. Use 3 cloves
  8. Provide 1 inch cinnamon stick
  9. Use 3 tbsp mustard oil
  10. You need 1 bay leaf
  11. Take 2 dry red chilli
  12. You need 1 tsp panchforan
  13. You need 1 medium sized sliced onion
  14. Prepare 1 medium sized chopped tomatoes
  15. You need 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  16. Use 1 tsp turmeric powder
  17. Take As per taste Salt
  18. Use as required Water

  20. Take 1 cup moong dal
  21. Provide 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  23. Provide 1 small sized chopped onion

Steps to make Moong Dal Vadi Gravy:
  1. Firstly in a jar take garlic, green chilli, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, Cumin seeds, black pepper add water as required and make a fine paste. Transfer it into a bowl.
  2. Now in the same jar add moong Dal and also make a thick and smooth paste. Now transfer in into another bowl then add chopped onion, turmeric powder, salt and the 1 tbsp spices paste which we prepared. Now mix it well.
  3. Now heat oil in a deep frying pan drop the spoon full of vadi batter into the hot oil one by one and frying in till golden brown. Same like this make all the vadis.
  4. Now in a pan heat the mustard oil now add panchforan, red chilli and bay leaf. Wait for a minute now add sliced onion and saute it till translucent. Now add prepared spices paste and turmeric powder and mix it and cook it for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Now add chopped tomatoes and mix well and cook it for a minute. Now add red chilli powder and salt mix it well and again cook it for a minute. Now add water (as per your choice of gravy thickness) and allow to boil it.
  6. Once it boiled switch off the flame and add the all vadis and cover it with lid and leave it for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes moong dal vadi gravy is ready to eat serve it with roti and rice. Enjoy!
