The ingredients needed to make Moong Dal Dumplings In Gravy:
- Prepare 3/4 Cup soaked washed and grounded moong dal
- Prepare 1 Medium sized onion finely chopped
- Use 2 Green chillies finely chopped
- Prepare 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste
- Use 1-2 Tbsp Choppred coriander leaves
- Use To Taste Salt
- You need 3/4 Cup oil for frying
- Take 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
- Prepare 1 Tsp Jeera
- Provide 1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder
- Provide 1/2 Tsp Dhaniya Powder
- Use 1/2-1 Tsp Garam Masala
Steps to make Moong Dal Dumplings In Gravy:
- Heat Oil in wok.
- Add salt, coriander leaves, 1 finely chopped chilli in the grounded moong dal.(Can add finely chopped carrot and onion in the mixture to increase taste and nutrtion)
- With help of a spoon make balls of the above mixture and fry them.(Remove 1 Tsp of this mixture for the gravy)
- Drain excess oil on paper napkin and keep aside.
- Heat 1 Tbsp oil put jeera and let it crackle now add onion and chilli and saute for a minute. Add ginger-garlic paste.
- When onion is golden brown add haldi powder, chilli powder and dhaniya powder. Fry for a minute now add 1 Tsp of dal in 2 cups of water and pour into the pot, add salt and let it boil while stirring it occassionally.
- After boiling for 5 mins add fried ball into the gravy let it boil again for 3-4 mins. Switch off the heat.(Can change the consistency according to your taste)
- Add garam masala and coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapathi or rice.
