The ingredients needed to prepare Chilli idli:
- Provide 7-8 leftover rice idlis
- Take 3 tsp maida / all purpose flour
- Provide 2 tsp cornflour
- Get Pinch cooking soda
- Prepare as needed Salt
- Get 1 big onion chopped in big squares
- Prepare 1 capsicum cut in big squares
- Take 2 tsp chilli sauce
- Take 2 tsp ketchup
- Provide 1 tsp soya sauce
- You need 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Get 3-4 green chillies cut in diagonal slits
- Provide 2-3 whole red chilli
- Provide as needed Oil to fry
- Get 1 tbsp oil to saute vegetables
Instructions to make Chilli idli:
- Cut the idli lenghtwise in 3-4pieces
- Make a batter of maida and cornflour to dip the idlis, add salt and pinch of soda to it. Dip each piece of idling and fry it in hot oil.
- Once all idlis are fried,take a pan heat 1 tbsp oil, add ginger garlic paste, sauté for a minute then add onion and capsicum squares to it, saute for 2-3 minutes
- Then add a little salt, red chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, soya sauce.
- Then add a slurry of cornflour (2tsp cornflour +little water) then add fried idlis to this, saute for a minute.
