Steps to make Idli Sambhar:
  1. Soaked urad dal and rice in 1:2 ratio at 11 in morning.Grinded to a fine paste in afternoon. Add salt as per taste. - It's summer so fermentation is no problem.. Keep in sun for an hour (covered), or preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes and then keep the batter into it for 30minutes (oven Band krne ke baad)
  2. Steam idlis in moulds (in a steamer for 12-15 minutes). Demould them when they cool a bit.
  3. For sambhar, - It's tur dal, pressure cooked… Tempered with curry leaves, jeera, hing and mustard seeds. - Heat ghee in a pan, add above masale. Add 1/2 cup chopped onions and saute till pink. Add 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes and let it cook. Add spices (sambhar masala + turmeric powder + red chilli powder + coriander powder) in the form of a paste. - Add cooked dal, mix well and serve hot with cut idlis😊

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with idli or dosa or pongal. This sambar should be watery, so adjust the consistency by.
