  1. Rinse and soak moong dal in water for 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain and discard all water from dal and grind it into a fine paste.
  3. Transfer it to a large bowl and beat the batter until it turns light, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame.
  5. When oil is medium hot, take a medium lemon sized portion of batter in between your fingers or a spoon and gently drop it into the oil.
