- Provide 1 bowl splitter lime beans or vaal ni dal
- You need 1 bowl pigeon pea or tuvar dal
- Use 1 teaspoons turmeric

- Provide 1 teaspoon ginger chilli paste
- Prepare 2 tablespoon jaggery
- Prepare 1 tablespoon oil for tadka
- Use Pinch Asafoetida for tadka
- Prepare 1 teaspoon mustard seeds for tadka
- Provide 2-3 red chilli
- Use Pinch Red chilli powder
- Provide 1 teaspoon salt to taste
Steps to make Lime Beans Curry or Vaal ni Dal nu Khatu:
- To a pressure cooker add lime beans and toor dal along with 1 teaspoon salt and 3 cups water.
- Pressure cook for 4 whistle on high heat then lower the heat and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally. Take this in a pot and add ginger chilli paste. Add garlic paste, turmeric and jaggery.
- Grind it with mixture grinder to make smooth curry and put the pot on gas. Add lemon juice. Let the dal simmer for 3 to 4 minutes.
- For tadka: Take oil in small pan. Add mustard seed and asafoetida. Add chilli in to it. Pour tempering over the dal and mix.
- Garnish Vaal nu khatu with coriander and serve with rice. This curry makes more delicious with Gujarati kadhi/ Gujarati curry. Serve it if required.
