- Prepare For Yahkni
- Provide 1/2 kg chicken
- Prepare 1 Onion Medium size sliced

- Take 2 Bay leaves
- Use 1/2 tsp whole spices powder
- You need 200 gm Yogurt
- Use 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- You need 1/2 Cup Ghee
Instructions to make Chicken Yahkni Pulao:
- First put everything for yakhni in the pot with water and cook on slow flame approx 20-30 minutes.
- Now strain the yakhni and keep aside chicken. Make sure you add enough water so that you have the proper amount of yakhni with you.
- Now for Rice: Brown the Onion add whole spice's and ginger garlic paste saute properly.
- Then add the cooked chicken saute a bit then add yogurt with salt, whole spice's powder bhoonofy properly.
- Then add the soaked rice, black cumin seeds and yakhni and cook till rice cooked properly.
- Put on dum for 10 minutes. serve with your choice of raita, salad.
- Tip : You can always sprinkle brown onions while serving (my family doesn't like it so I don't do this)
- Tip : The best ratio for water as in yakhni is for 1cup of rice we need 2 cups of yakhni.
- Tip : Always use good quality basmati rice for yakhni pulao.
