The ingredients needed to cook Badi phula:
- You need 8-10 Kakharu badi
- Provide 2 tbsp mustard oil
- You need 1 tsp mustard seeds/sarso
- Get 2-3 dry red chillies
- Prepare 7-8 garlic cloves(chopped)
- Get 3/4 cup milk
- You need 1/2 tsp sugar
- Use to taste salt
Instructions to make Badi phula:
- Heat 1tbsp oil in a pan. Make sure the oil is spread all over the pan. Add 'badi' and fry it for 5-6min. till it turns little brown. Don't burn it.
- Remove it and let it cool for 1-2min.
- In another kadhai/wok, heat 1tbsp oil. Then add mustard seeds. When it starts spluttering, add chopped garlic.
- Then add dry chillies and saute it for 1-2min.
- Add 1/2cup water. Then add milk. Let it cook for 1min. in medium flame.
- Then add fried badi. Add salt to taste & let it cook till the badi becomes soft.
- While adding salt, please keep in mind that the badi already has salt in it. Then add sugar.
- The badi should absorb milk properly & will swell(that's why it's Badi Phula). The milk will start boiling & badi will absorb it. It's ready to serve.
