- Provide For koftas :
- Provide 1 Cup Paneer (Mashed)
- Provide 1 Cup Potatoes(boiled +Mashed)
- Take 2 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste,
- Take 2 tbsp Cornflour
- Use 1 tsp jeera Powder, and salt to taste
- You need 1 tsp green chillis chopped
- Get 1 tbsp corinder leaves
- Prepare For Gravy
- You need 2_3 laung,
- Provide 2-3 badi and choti elaichi,
- You need 2-3 tej patta
- Prepare 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- Prepare 1 tsp whole jeera,
- Use 1tsp chopped garlic
- Prepare 1 tsp chopped ginger
- Use 2 Chopped onions (medium),
- Get 4 Chopped tomatoes (medium),
- Get 1 cup water,
- Use to taste salt, mirchi powder
- Prepare 2 tbsp Malai / cream
- Prepare as required Oil for cooking,few nuts Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions to make Shahi Malai Kofta:
- For Gravy : In a pan heat some oil. Add whole jeera, tej patta, long, choti, badi elaichi cinnamon stick, mix well.
- Add chopped onion and mix well. Cook till they become translucent. Add chopped ginger and garlic, mix well. Add chopped tomatoes.and stir well. (Remember the qty of the tomatoes should be double the onions). Add mirchi powder and salt to taste and mix well.
- Add cashews and mix well. Add little water. Cover the lid of the pan and cook for 5-6 mins on medium flame. After 5-6 mins, switch off the gas and let the gravy cool down.
- For Balls : lets prepare the balls, While the gravy cool downs. In a bowl add the mashed paneer, mashed potatoes, 2 tbsp corn flour, coriander leaves, jeera powder,salt, green chills. Mix all the ingredients well and shape them into balls or elongated shape (as you wish) Tip : place one kismish in the centre while make balls
- Fry the balls on medium to low flame. And place them on the serving tray.
- The gravy has cooled down by now. Blend the gravy in a blender and strain it with a strainer to get silky smooth gravy. Put the gravy in a pan heat for a while and add cream / malai to it. Mix well and immediately switch off the gas. Pour the gravy over the koftas, garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
- Tip : Donot put the balls in the gravy but instead pour the gravy over the balls as the balls are very soft.
