The ingredients needed to make Hydrabadi Chutney:
  1. Prepare 1 tbsp chana dal
  2. Take 1 tbsp white til( sesame seeds)
  3. Use 1 tbsp oil
  4. Prepare 1 tsp Jeera/ cumin seeds
  5. Use 4 Garlic cloves
  6. Get 1 Onion (roughly chopped
  7. Take 1 tsp ginger chopped
  8. Take 1 tsp green chillies chopped
  9. Get 1 tsp Tamarind
  10. Use 1 cup coriander leaves
  11. Take 4 large tomatoes chopped
  12. Prepare To taste Salt
  13. Use 1 tsp lal mirchi ( red chilli)powder
  14. Get 1 tsp haldi( Turmeric powder)
  15. Provide For tadka
  16. Get 1 tsp oil
  17. Take 1 tsp rai/ mustard seeds
  18. Provide 1 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds
  19. Prepare 1 tsp urad dal
  20. You need 1 tsp chana dal
  21. Prepare 1 whole dry red chilli
  22. Provide as needed curry leaves
Steps to make Hydrabadi Chutney:
  1. Take pan and dry roast til and chana dal. Take out in dish and let it cool.
  2. Now in same pan heat oil.
  3. Put jeera and let it splutter. Add garlic cloves. Saute it.
  4. Now put onions. Cook for a min. Add ginger, chilli and tamarind. Mix well.
  5. Now add coriander leaves. Cook for a min and add tomatoes. Mix well.
  6. Add all dry spices. Add half cup of water.
  7. Mix well. Cover and cook for 10 mins on slow flame.
  8. Keep aside and let it cool.
  9. Now in a mixer jar take roasted chana dal and til.
  10. Grind it to make powder.
  11. Now add cooked tomatoes in this powder.
  12. Blend it and make smooth paste.
  13. Now for tadka heat oil.
  14. Add rai and let it splutter.
  15. Add jeera, chana dal and Urad dal.
  16. Roast properly. Add curry leaves and red chilli.
  17. Now add chutney on tadka and mix well.
  18. Delicious chutney is ready.
  19. Serve hot with steamed rice.
